Portage Health is located close to the Finlandia University campus. The emergency room is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To contact the emergency room, call (906) 483-1000. When it's not an emergency, you may find walk-in care at Express Care in Houghton ((906) 483-1777) or make an appointment with a Portage Health Medical Group physician in Hancock ((906) 483-1060).

Accident and Sickness Insurance Plan

All full-time students are covered by an Accident & Sickness Insurance Plan while enrolled for classes at Finlandia University. The insurance plan is supplemental to any other health care plan for which a student is enrolled. Brochures with a brief description of the benefits are provided with the Accident & Insurance Plan that is available by calling the Director of Student Affairs at 487-7276 or the Assistant to the Registrar at 487-7207.
