TRiO Student Support Services (TRiO/SSS)The TRiO Student Support Services project at Finlandia University strives to empower 180 qualifying TRiO Student Support Services launches students into higher education. If you fill out an application, have at least one of the qualifications for the program, and have completed your intake interview you will be able to use the following services.
Students with academic, career, or personal concerns may find it helpful to talk directly with a Student Support Services staff member. All services are free and confidential.
EligibliltyYou are eligible for TRiO Student Support Services if:

Being a first generation college student means that neither one of your parents completed a four-year college or university (Bachelor's) degree. Having financial need means that your individual or family's taxable income falls below the official federal income figure determined by family size. Having a disability means that you have a documented physical or learning disability that may affect your role as a student. Academic need includes, but is not limited to, any of the following: HS or college GPA below 3.0; composite ACT score of 20 or below; earned GED; failing grades; out of school 5 years or more; undeclared major/or no clear career goals; single parent; need for personal counseling.
APPLICATIONOnce eligibility has been determined, you must meet with your TRiO/SSS contact person for an intake interview in order to become a full participant and utilize TRiO/SSS services.
